theMaker's Learning Lessons
Youth Learning Lessons integrate activities that build knowledge and understanding in two primary categories:
- Software Programming
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
Think of it this way:
- STEM Learning Activities = Digital and Physical Computing = Robotics
- Software Programming Activities = Digital Computing = Video Gaming
While similar in that both build and depend on software programming skills, STEM Learning Activities focus on building knowledge needed to create technologies that combine the use of software and hardware to bring the digital and physical computing worlds to life.
Robotics is a good example of a type of technology that is based on broader Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math principles. A robots software brain tells the physical hardware body how to move and react. Your child will use the digital and physical learning tools provided to create software that takes actual physical inputs and responds.
You will be amazed at what your child can create. All while having fun learning and building knowledge their peers do not have. And it all starts without any required skills or abilities.
