Learning Lessons for High School Students

theMaker offers Software Programming and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Learning Lessons for small groups of High School Students. Learning Lessons at this age group are 1.5 hours long.

Primary Focus

Lessons for this age group emphasize advanced critical thinking around concepts in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, software programming and logic. Concepts are brought to life through challenging hands-on projects that leverage technology in exciting and impressive ways. The byproduct of these lessons is learning and the result is an amazing technology that participants will create.

What to expect

Teenagers are particularly adept at learning and using technology. Technology is inherent and ubiquitous in today's teenage culture.  Unfortunately, just using these technologies does not impart an understanding of the underlying science, technology, engineering and math magic that make them possible.

Knowing what a thing does, is not same as knowing how it does it.

That's the sweet spot of theMaker's Learning Lessons - learning HOW by DOING !

theMaker's STEM Learning Lessons for High School Students are for teenagers that immerse themselves in social, gaming, and interactive software technologies - students with an interest in going beyond the "what" and learning the "how".  You know, the young adults that want to explore strange new worlds, to seek out out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.
